Great job Balkans, great job.  Before we start this debrief, the Albovision team wants to sincerely apologize for the time off, we're all students and we had quite a few exams, causing us to take a big break from the blog, but we're back now! Make sure to follow Albovision for more ESC debrief...

JESC 2025: My Top 3

Image
(Photo credit: https://eurovisionworld.com/junior-eurovision/2024) by: Leeza Sokoli Before I found Eurovision, I was DEEPLY intrenched in the realm of Junior Eurovision (no kidding, i binge watched every single edition, and could name all winners in chronological order. This is my first year that I have aged out of the contest, but here are my top 5: 5. Albania - Vallezoj (Nikol Cabeli) One of the most underrated songs this year, and although I may be biased, I am very fond of it. It's different than the rest of the entries, and I honestly like the vibe. 4. Ukraine - HEAR ME NOW (Artem Kotenko) Definitely a crowd favorite, I love it's meaning and it's vibe. Solid song choice by Ukraine. 3. Malta - Stilla Ckejkna (Ramires Sciberras) MOST UNDERATED SONG EVER. Maltese is such a beautiful language, and that really shows in the song. I hope this gets the result it deserves. 2. France - Comme ci comme ca (Titouan) This song is so over hated, I love the vibe, it's fun, well ...

(image credit: https://eurovisionireland.net/2024/10/07/%F0%9F%87%A6%F0%9F%87%B1-albania-the-fik63-artists-have-been-revealed/) Next on the FiK 63 lineup is the talented Alis Kallacej, competing to represent Albania in Basel next year. Without further to do, here's what we know about Alis Kallacej. 1. His song is titled " Mjegull " The word Mjegull means "fog" in Albanian. With this bit information, I wonder if the song is going to have a mysterious sort of tone. 2. He won the X Factor Albania According to his Instagram, Alis Kallacej competed in the X factor Albania, and proceeded to the live shows. He succeeded so well that he ended up winning the whole show, good job to him! 3. He is also a songwriter Alis Kallacej is also listed as a co-songwriter for "Mjegull". As I've previously mentioned with Algert Sala, I love when artists at least somewhat write their songs, so I'm very excited to hear Mjegull. 4. He is present on Instagram Alis Kal...

FiK 63: What we know about Algert Sala

(image credit: https://eurovisionireland.net/2024/10/07/%F0%9F%87%A6%F0%9F%87%B1-albania-the-fik63-artists-have-been-revealed/) Starting off our FiK 63 season is none other than the amazing Algert Sala. He is one of the many artists competing to represent Albania in Basel next year. Without further to do, here's what we know about Algert Sala. 1. His song is titled "Bosh" The word Bosh means "empty" in Albanian. Given this information, this song will likely either be about romance or love. 2. His song is a Ballad Like many Fik songs, Algert Sala's song "Bosh" will be a ballad. 3. He is also a songwriter and composer Algert Sala is also listed as the songwriter and composer for "Bosh". In my opinion, songs hit better when they are coming straight out of the artist's heart, so I cannot wait to see what Algert came up with. It isn't as uncommon for someone to write their song, but to compose too? I am super hyped to hear "Bosh...

Introduction to albovision!

Image
This is going to be a relatively short post, but I'm really excited. Hello, my name is Leeza Sokoli, and ever since I can remember I've loved Eurovision. I'm 15 years old, and I am an Albanian-American based out of Detroit, USA. (hence where the name "albovision" comes from). Honestly I really just want a place to talk about my Eurovision opinions. I'm also a professional singer, and I've actually gotten to submit to some ESC national finals, so I'm involved in many different parts of the context. When I was ten years old, COVID-19 hit, and although it was a very hard time for me, I actually found peace in Junior Eurovision. (No joke, I've watched every single edition since 2003). From Junior Eurovision, I eventually got into the grown up ESC, which honestly changed my life for the better. I guess this blog is going to be my passion project of sorts, I seriously just want to get more kids and teens into ESC. I hope that eventually I...
